How best to view this site?
This site is best viewed in Internet Explorer version 5 or higher, Netscape 6.2 or higher, or Firefox. These programs are available free of charge over the Internet - click on the product name to download any of the programs for free. (Links open in a new window)
The site does not support browser versions lower than 4.0.You can check which version you are using by going to Help in the top menu bar of your browser (above this site), select "About [this product]" and a window will pop up with information on which browser and version you are currently using.
We highly recommend that you update your browser regularly, as outdated browsers limit the technical options we can offer and lessen your online experience.
Pop-up windows
We only use pop-up windows when there is good reason to, for example when explaining technical terms within text without diverting users from the content of interest to them.

- To find out which orthotic products are appropriate, an understanding of the patient's condition is necessary. Diagnosis for orthotic products is always undertaken by a doctor.

Most Ossur products are sold only via specialist professionals such as practitioners, certified prosthetists and orthotists. We are sorry, but due to the complexity of selecting, fitting and adjusting products we are unable to sell direct to amputees or orthotic users. Some of our 'off the shelf' products are available in certain regions via online marketplaces. - Healthcare professionals
Practitioners, prosthetists, orthotists and other healthcare professionals without an existing account should initially get in touch with their nearest Customer Services contact.

Keep abreast of new developments. Ossur offers visitors to its website the chance to receive updates via RSS in addition to Ossur mailings and its online news service.
Don't understand a word?
Words and terms commonly used in prosthetics, bracing, support and spinal solutions are listed here. These include most of the common terminology surrounding amputation surgery and rehabilitation, as well as the medical conditions which necessitate the use of orthotics.
